Faith Cole is a PhD student in the Department of Anthropology at UCLA, where she specializes in Psychological and Medical Anthropology. Her dissertation research investigates how experts, patients, community mental health workers, and family members negotiate the ethics of care for serious mental illness in policy-making boards and community mental health centers in Río Negro, Argentina, a province that pioneered community mental health reforms in the region. Prior to coming to UCLA, she worked in interdisciplinary public health and anthropological research teams, studying inequities in water access in Mexico City and WHO World Mental Health Surveys in Nepal.
