The Division of General Medical Disciplines in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University seeks a dynamic biomedical ethicist to join the Department of Medicine and the Division of General Medical Disciplines as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor in the Medical Center Line or University Tenure Line. The successful candidate will be a core faculty member of the Stanford Center for Biomedical Ethics. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a terminal degree (PhD, JD, MD) and a background or experience related to biomedical ethics.

  • The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Medical Center Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
  • The predominant criterion for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching.

Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
