SMA awards: Career Achievement Award
The award, established in 2004, is given to honor individuals who have advanced the field through career-long contributions to theory and/or method, and who have been successful in communicating the relevance of medical anthropology to broader publics.
Nominations for the award should include a letter of nomination, an additional supporting letter, a biographical statement by the nominee, and the candidate's current CV. Send materials to Dr. Alan Harwood (Chair of the Selection Committee), Department of Anthropology, University of Massachusetts, Boston, MA 02125. Deadline for complete nomination packets: September 1, 2008.
Ronnie Frankenberg and Margaret Lock (2007) Arthur Kleinman (2006), George Foster (2005), and Cecil Helman (2004) are the previous winners of this award.
