Degrees offered:
- The Centre for the Study of Health and Society at the University of Melbourne is a multidisciplinary centre integrating a variety of humanities and social sciences perspectives on health, disease and health service delivery. From 2000, the Centre will be offering two new postgraduate courses in medical anthropology as well as research programs in medical anthropology through the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program.

- The two new courses are:
- Graduate Diploma in Medical Anthropology
Master of Medical Anthropology (This course is in the final stages of academic approval)
The Graduate Diploma in Medical Anthropology comprises six coursework subjects (four compulsory and two elective subjects) and a minor research report. - The Master of Medical Anthropology comprises five coursework subjects (four compulsory and an elective subject) and a minor research thesis.
Both the Graduate Diploma in Medical Anthropology and the Master of Medical Anthropology will take one-year full-time or two-years part-time study to complete.
